Position: Project Manager - Software Implementation

Manager: Director of Technical Services

Department: Professional Services

Overview
The Project Manager - Software Implementation is part of a team of highly qualified individuals that comprise our Solution Design team as part of our Professional Services offerings. A business-savvy and technically competent person, the Project Manager - Software Implementation gathers customer requirements, analyzes business processes, finds areas for improvement, calculates ROI, and creates proposals and presentations that help establish the value of our products and services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the planning and requirements gathering during the first steps of a project
  • Review and analyze functional requirements and technical specifications.
  • Interact with cross functional teams to map processes and uncover hidden opportunities for improvement (Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Receiving, Distribution, etc)
  • Review documentation such as business workflows, processes, and procedures to provide a detailed functional and systems analysis.
  • Development of Statements of Work, project plans, schedules, and project time lines
  • Organize work to meet objectives and schedule time in order to meet deadlines.
  • Work with customers and the Project Manager to define and manage the scope, strategy, requirements and implementation of projects
  • Travel (40 – 50%) to customer sites for requirements gathering and presentations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven experience with all components of a software project lifecycle such as planning, analysis, design, testing and implementation
  • Experience with software implementations, end user training and documentation
  • Proven ability to communicate with both executive-level and staff-level personnel at customer sites, being able to put them at ease, gain their trust and build rapport
  • Excellent comprehension and analysis of financial and operational data, with good evaluation, summarization and results-finding skills
  • Able to create, edit and present documents with heavy technical content that can be understood by business-oriented audience; proven ability to write in a clear, concise and grammatically accurate form
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, complex technical environment
  • Excellent negotiation and issue resolution skills
  • Prioritize assignments, balance multiple projects and ensure schedules are maintained
  • Proven experience in gathering requirements for projects of all sizes
  • Seeks challenges and thrives on meeting deadlines with quality and efficiency

Qualifications:  Experience/Education

  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive Systems or Business Analyst experience within the document imaging and management software industry
  • B.S. in Information Systems Management or related field required
