FastFax Administrator Training Path (Register Now)

The FastFax Administrator Training Path provides a thorough understanding of the architecture and operational flow of FastFax/Enterprise and FastFax/Ultra. This path is excellent for administrators looking to refresh their FastFax knowledge.

Audience: Network or iSeries 400 Administrators, FastFax Administrators.
Beginner Prerequisites: Working knowledge of the iSeries 400.

Class: FastFax Administrator Overview

Duration: 1 Hour
Objectives: At the conclusion of the class the participant will understand:

  • The topology of the FastFax network
  • The FastFax file structure
  • How FastFax sends faxes
  • How FastFax manages fax data and information
Class: System and Environment Defaults

Duration: 1.5 Hours
Objectives: At the conclusion of the class the participant will comprehend:
  • The System/Environment Defaults
  • The Network Environment Defaults
  • iSeries 400 Environment Defaults

Class: Control and Operations

Duration: 1 Hour
Objectives: At the conclusion of the class the participant will understand:

  • The FastFax Processes and Subsystems that run on the iSeries 400
  • The Network Environment Defaults
  • iSeries 400 Environment Defaults
  • What is included in the FastFax Processor
  • How to check the status of the FastFax Processor
  • How to check the status of the lines and change the line defaults
  • What happens when a line does not respond
Class: Routing

Duration: 1.5 Hours
Objectives: Upon completing this program the participants will be able to:
  • Locate and update authority to administer routing in Profiles
  • Understand the purposes of Outbound Routing
  • Understand the purposes of Inbound Routing
  • Navigate to the Routing Table(s) using the iSeries 400 and FaxBar
  • Add to/modify the Outbound Routing Table(s) via the iSeries 400 and FaxBar
  • Modify the Outbound Routing Codes using the iSeries400 and/or FaxBar
  • Know how to route inbound faxes to inboxes with FastFax/Enterprise and
  • E-Mail Gateway
  • Find documentation and assistance

Class: Working With User Profiles

Duration: 1.5 Hours
Objectives: Upon completing this program the participants will be able to:

  • Understand the general purposes of FastFax Profiles
  • Locate and update authority to administer Profiles
  • List the three types of Profiles
  • Navigate to the work with profiles menus via iSeries 400 and PC
  • Create new profiles and modify existing profiles
  • Know the default settings within Profiles
  • Find documentation and assistance
Note: PC profiles is not part of FastFax/Ultra instruction.

Class: Graphics

Duration: 1.5 Hours
Objectives: At the conclusion of the class the participant will be able to:

  • Find and update authority-to-administer graphics in profiles
    Navigate to the FastFax Graphic Table via the iSeries 400 and FaxBar
  • List the four types of entries contained in the Graphics Table
  • Understand the differences and general uses of the types (forms, graphics, signatures, composed)
  • Know the purpose, locations, and synchronization of the FFXGRE folders
  • Work within the requirements for files to be uploaded to FastFax graphics
    Understand POR files and how they are created/synchronized by FastFax
  • Know the steps to upload graphics to FFXGRE and create entries in the graphics table
  • Use graphics as follows:
  • On cover sheets
  • As overlays from FastFax send screens
  • As attachments
  • In API integrations
  • In Extractor template
  • Find documentation and assistance
Note: The FaxBar is not part of FastFax/Ultra instruction.

  • Understand *CV embedded command if using API
