FastFax/LAN V4.7.2 eliminates your dependence on stand-alone fax machines
and uses the power of your existing LAN network to cut costs, increase
productivity and reduce hardware maintenance headaches, while improving
document quality and delivery.
FastFax, an IBM ServerProven solution, improves user efficiency and saves overhead costs by replacing manual fax machines with secure batch and interactive faxing from within any major business application. FastFax can be used separately or in conjunction with Quadrant Software’s PPM solution IntelliChief suite including Formatter, Formtastic Fusion5, and E-Mail Gateways.
FastFax transmits, receives, and centrally manages faxes to and from the iSeries, Windows 2000/NT servers, Novell NetWare servers, and Windows workstations. In addition, this solution interfaces with Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino, Novell GroupWise, and any SMTP server to manage faxes from familiar email clients including Outlook and Notes.
Enhancements for FastFax/LAN v4.7.2 include:

Filing of
inbound faxes/emails
FastFax/LAN, the Windows-based version
of FastFax, now has the ability to automatically
index and file incoming faxes/emails
into IntelliChief, Quadrant Software’s
document imaging system, as well as into
other imaging/archiving solutions. This
feature is already available in FastFax/Enterprise,
and now users of the FastFax/LAN solution
have a quick and easy way of archiving
all received faxes/emails.

Ability to
process PDF files for faxing
If the output of your business application
is a PDF file and not a spool file, FastFax
can now handle that. FastFax/LAN reads
and parses the PDF file, identifying
the recipient’s information and
determining whether the file should be
faxed or emailed. Companies wanting to
automate the faxing and emailing of PDF
files from outside the System i (iSeries
400) can now use FastFax for this task.

Support for
XML
FastFax/LAN now supports XML as a parameter
file when integrating with other business
applications. This enhancement gives
companies additional ways in which they
can integrate their applications with
FastFax, thus creating a seamless interface
for their users.
