| BATCH FAXING SAVES TIME, RESOURCES, and $$$! The most time-consuming step in faxing is the dialing and connection phase, and the most expensive part of every long-distance phone call is the first minute. Using FastFax, you can save both time and money using the solution's intuitive batch faxing feature. Batch faxing means that when a fax reaches Position #1 in the fax queue, FastFax automatically searches the queue for any other documents to be delivered to the same fax number. If it finds another fax job (or jobs) going to the same number, and if it/they are eligible to be batch-faxed, FastFax will send more than one document in the same transmission. Batch-faxing maximizes both the sending and receiving fax units resources and saves significant money by eliminating a lot of first minutes. What makes a job eligible to be batch-faxed? This is determined by the settings in the General System Defaults. From the iSeries 400 command line: FFXMAIN » (5) Configuration Menu » (1) System/Environment Defaults » Take Option 2 on General System Defaults » bottom of the first page From the FaxBar: FastFax Administration » System Defaults » Retries/Batch Tab To be eligible for batch-faxing, the job must be in Ready status (RDY) and capable of being faxed right away. Meaning it has not been scheduled to fax some time in the future. In addition, you have the option of batch faxing all of the types of FastFax jobs, some types, or none at all. Look for the Batch send type of faxes to include. *ALL (iSeries 400) or ALL (PC client) means that all of the types of FastFax jobs being generated can be batch-faxed. You may decide that you would only like to batch-fax certain types of jobs. This can be accomplished on the iSeries 400 by typing *SELECT in this field, then going back up to that field and prompting on it with the F4 key. On the PC client choose the Select button. You can now choose the specific types of FastFax jobs eligible for batch-faxing. |
