Forms Design Is a Snap With Formtastic's 'Snap To Grid' Command

Forms design is a breeze if you take advantage of Formtastic’s full range of design tools and shortcuts. Here’s a simple little tip that many Quadrant Software customers love…the ‘Snap To Grid’ command.

Here’s how it works. You're designing a form in Document Editor and you have a series of design elements including lines, headings, boxes, and graphics that need to line up vertically and/or horizontally for that polished, professional look.

Open the ‘Arrange’ drop-down menu and select ‘Grid Settings’. In the new window, check ‘Show Grid’ and ‘Snap to Grid’. After you close the window, you’ll see a grid of red dots displayed in your design area. These menu options are also available as shortcuts in the button menu running vertically along the right side of your screen.

Now start moving or drawing your design elements. You’ll see that all elements automatically snap vertically and horizontally to an invisible grid, perfectly aligning all your design elements and eliminating tedious trial and error.
