Print Check Stub Overflow Information To a Different Paper Source
This
isn't hard to do, but you're going to need both Formtastic Fusion5 for
forms as well as Formtastic Checks. Here are the basic steps:
1. Start by creating
your MICR check as usual using the Formtastic Checks.
2. Using Formtastic Fusion5, create a FORM that looks identical to the
stub from your check.
3. Once you have completed your form definition link it to your check
spool file and map the data from the stub portion only.
4. Now go back to Formtastic Checks. When you merge your newly created
check, you will notice a function key labeled "F14=Check Overflow".
Press this function key to display the Check Overflow Definition screen.
(see screenshot below)
5. Fill in the information that defines an overflow condition. Also
enter your new FORM name and source drawer where the 8 ½ x 11
paper resides. Press "Enter". (see screenshot below)
That's it. The check
and form definitions will be merged with the spool file and print out
from their appropriate source drawers automatically every time without
wasting any valuable blank check stock.

In Step 4 you'll need to use the "F14=Check
Overflow" command, indicated here with a yellow arrow.

|
| Here's
the "Check Overflow Definition" screen from Step
5. This screen tells Formtastic that when the words
‘MORE’ are found on line 18, position 68, for
a length of 4, merge this page of the spool file with FORM
named COBSB002 and send the result of that merge to source
drawer 2 of printer PRT2200.
