| Use Partial
ANI Entries for More Flexible Routing Rules Hi Mike, Great question! FastFax has a new feature that’s going to do just want you want. Our latest version, FastFax 4.5.2, can now route inbound faxes by partial ANI numbers. Even better, it's incredibly easy to do. Just create an entry as usual in the FastFax Inbound Routing Table (via the iSeries or PC client screens), but only put in as many ANI digits as you need. In the example below all of the calls originating in Area Code 508 are going to be directed to one FastFax user:
If you want to route all of the inbound calls originating from a particular state to a specific profile, printer, etc., then create an entry for each of the Area Codes in that state. Using Massachusetts as an example, you’d create an entry with each of the Area Codes 339, 351, 413, 508, 617, 774, 781, 857 and 978 and route all of them to the specific destination. FastFax first looks for the most specific match available (a complete fax number) and then works its way down partial entries to provide great flexibility when configuring your routing tables. If you want to route all calls from a particular sender’s number to a certain destination, then put in the whole number in an inbound routing table entry. So, if you want any fax from 5088286246 to go to Bob Smith, then put that whole number in the table and point it to Bob Smith's profile. When a fax from that number comes into the system, the document will automatically go to Bob. But if you want all other faxes from area code 508 to go to Nellie, then simply enter 508 in the routing table and point it to Nellie. You can even route incoming faxes based on the sender's particular Exchange by creating entries including only the area code and exchange numbers, e.g. 508747). Stay in touch and let us know how this new FastFax feature is working for you! All the best, |
