| Taking
Scanning Out of the Equation with FastFax / Enterprise
Hi there,
I noted from our
records that you own our FastFax / Enterprise product and PC client
licenses. You can produce superior TIF forms right from the FastFax
PC client. No more printing a copy and then having it scanned! Here’s
what you do:
- Bring up the
image or document in a Windows program. Chose File --> Print, and
from the "Printer Name" drop-down menu, choose the printer
"FastFax File Image". Click OK.
- FastFax will
print the TIF image and open the "Rename FastFax/LAN Generated
Image File:" window (see image below).
- You'll find that FastFax will also generate a name for the file like "AAA90".
Select that name and make it something more familiar (e.g., globe01).
- Suggestion: keep
this file name to 8 characters or less...just in case you'll
be uploading the new TIF to the FastFax Graphic Table.
- Optional: You
should also note that you can override the default destination for
this new file ("C:\FastFax\FfxImg") by selecting the "..."
button and selecting another location (such out to a network folder).
You've now got a TIF file that meets all of the FastFax graphics
specifications.
Using this method,
you can turn anything you can see in Windows into an 8.5 x 11 TIF image.
Just note that when you start with something in color it may or may
not render into acceptable image when it’s rendered into black-and-white.
Let us know how
you make out with this tip!
All the best,
