Save Time & Hassle by Selecting and Moving Multiple Objects

Greetings,

There are a couple of methods you should try and see which one works best for you. Both will save you the chore of moving individual elements and re-aligning them.

Method #1

First, select one of the objects you wish to reposition.

Then press and hold the CTRL key and select a second object with your mouse (left-click).

Keep holding the left CTRL key and keep selecting objects until all of the ones you wish to move now have “handles” around them.

Now place your mouse pointer on any of these selected objects and move them as one group to any position you like. The group will stay selected until you left-click somewhere outside of these objects.

Method #2

  1. Place your mouse pointer above and to the left of the group of objects you wish to select. Make sure your mouse pointer is not on any objects.
  2. Left-click and hold, then move the move down and to the right (forming a dashed rectangle) until you've encompassed all of the objects you want to select. See Figure 1 below.
  3. When you release the left-click, the rectangle disappears but everything that was within it is selected and has handles. See Figure 2 below.
  4. You can now place your mouse pointer on any of these selected objects and move them as one group to any position you like.

Figure 1: Select the objects you want to move by dragging your mouse pointer to encompass all of those items:

Figure 2: Once you let go of the mouse button, each selected object will have "handles". You can now move these objects as a group.

Either of these methods will save time when you need to move multiple objects. Depending on how objects are arranged, on method may be more efficient than the other.
