4.7.2
TAMPA, FL (June 2007) – Quadrant Software, the leading software
developer for Paperless Process Management solutions for the System
i and Windows enterprises, announces the immediate availability of
version 4.7.2 of its line of Enterprise Fax servers.
The v4.7.2 release
is available for all versions of FastFax including FastFax/Enterprise,
FastFax/Ultra, and FastFax/LAN.
FastFax replaces manual fax
machines with secure batch and interactive faxing from the
System i (iSeries 400) running mission-critical business applications
such as Infor XA, BPCS, PRMS, JD Edwards, among others. FastFax
products allow users to transmit, receive, and centrally manage
their faxes and emails directly from their desktop.
Enhancements
for FastFax/Enterprise v4.7.2 include:
-
Dynamic Line Allocation
FastFax now allow users to dynamically reserve a certain
number of lines for receiving faxes, thus minimizing the
possibility that the sender will encounter a busy signal.
If all receive lines are busy, FastFax will use an available “send” line
and dynamically allocate it to receive. This way, even in
high volume situations where “send” and “receive” lines
are being fully utilized, there will always be an open line
for incoming fax transmissions. This ensures businesses keep
receiving mission-critical information during peak periods.
-
Enhanced Options for Line Prioritization
Now users can determine
the order in which to load the send/receive lines. When lines
are busy either sending or receiving faxes, FastFax can start
queuing faxes from the low volume lines, or start from the
high volume lines. This gives users more control over how
faxes will be queued and also avoids conflicts with PBX
systems routing incoming faxes using low volume lines as
default.
-
Use of DNIS for Inbound Routing
Inbound routing allows users to automatically route incoming
faxes to the appropriate person or department based on
the sender’s fax number obtained using the TSI
(Transmitting Subscriber Identification) or ANI (Automatic
Number Identification). Now the configuration of the
routing process is made even more powerful by allowing
the use of DNIS (Dialed Number Identification Service),
enabling not only the identification of where the fax
is coming from, but also identifying the number that
was dialed. For example, a purchase order coming from
the East Coast being sent to the sales fax number could
be immediately routed to the appropriate sales person.
Or, an invoice faxed from Minnesota and sent to the Division
A of ACME Corporation will be routed to the correct accounting
clerk. The combined use of TSI, ANI and DNIS allows for
intelligent fax routing, the reduction of errors, and
streamlined workflow.
-
Auto Fax-Back with TSI
By utilizing both the TSI and ANI from the receiving fax
device, FastFax can now automatically transmit a confirmation
fax back to the originating number for automatic fax confirmations.
This new enhancement lets the receipt of faxes be automatically
confirmed without end user intervention thus eliminating
the need for the sender to call the recipient to verify whether
a fax has been successfully received. This new feature
is geared to FastFax implementations with heavy inbound traffic
where confirmations are critical, such as for order confirmations
or customer service inquiries.
-
Support for TrueFax Card
FastFax possessors now support the Cantata Technology Brooktrout
TrueFax® fax cards, a line of intelligent fax boards
that offer small businesses and departmental workgroups
dependable network fax capabilities. TrueFax cards are
a less expensive alternative to more expensive multi-line
fax cards that are highly suitable for customers with low
inbound and outbound fax volumes.
-
Enhanced Purge Option for Archived Faxes
FastFax’s integration with document management/imaging
applications for easy indexing and archival of inbound fax
documents, has now been enhanced for advanced purge capabilities.
Every time a fax is indexed and archived, information is stored
in a set of tables in the system. The Purge option in FastFax
has been enhanced to allow automatic deletion of such information
from the internal FastFax tables making integration with industry
leading imaging/archival solutions such as IntelliChief seamless. Now
document retention and disposal policies managed within an
image/archival solution can control faxes generated and received
by FastFax, making fax document management a snap.
Enhancements for FastFax/LAN v4.7.2 include:
-
Filing of inbound faxes/emails
FastFax/LAN, the Windows-based version of FastFax, now
has the ability to automatically index and file incoming
faxes/emails into IntelliChief, Quadrant Software’s
document imaging system, as well as into other imaging/archiving
solutions. This feature is already available in FastFax/Enterprise,
and now users of the FastFax/LAN solution have a quick
and easy way of archiving all received faxes/emails.
-
Ability to process PDF files for faxing
If the
output of your business application is a PDF file and not
a spool file, FastFax can now handle that. FastFax/LAN
reads and parses the PDF file, identifying the recipient’s
information and determining whether the file should be
faxed or emailed. Companies wanting to automate the faxing
and emailing of PDF files from outside the System i (iSeries
400) can now use FastFax for this task.
-
Support for XML
FastFax/LAN now supports XML as a parameter file when
integrating with other business applications. This enhancement
gives companies additional ways in which they can integrate
their applications with FastFax, thus creating a seamless interface
for their users.
Miscellaneous Upgrades for all products in the FastFax
Family:
-
FastFax now supports the Microsoft Windows
Vista operating system.
-
FastFax now supports Microsoft Office
2007 in order to render documents/spreadsheets that are created
by email clients, and then sent to FastFax for faxing.
Over the years, FastFax has helped companies significantly
reduce expenses and increase productivity. With FastFax, companies
are able to automate and customize delivery according to recipient
preference or document type (fax, email, print) and send in
batch or on the fly.
Pricing for FastFax V4.7.2 starts at $8,400 (USD) and is free
to customers on service agreements with Quadrant Software. The
latest version of FastFax is available immediately. For more
