TAUNTON, MA (March 3, 2004) -- Quadrant Software, the leading developer of Electronic Document Distribution (EDD) solutions for the iSeries enterprise, announces enhancements to Formtastic Fusion5, its electronic forms, labels and MICR check solution for the iSeries 400, as well as Formatter, its software tool for reducing the number of pages in spool file documents. These software enhancements are included in release 5.2.1 of Formtastic and Formatter, which are available immediately and at no charge to existing customers. Formtastic Fusion5, combined with Formatter, reduces document page counts, creates and delivers mission-critical documents from the iSeries 400, eliminating expensive pre-printed forms, and provides significant savings on document delivery costs.

Enhancements to Formatter Include:

Support for Multiple Page Styles - Formatter now supports multiple page styles for the input spooled file, allowing for advanced logic to eliminate redundant data. Formatter manipulates spool data to work with form layout formats that are not uniform from page to page. For example, the input spooled file may have a layout with one style for the first page, another style for interior pages, and a third style for the last document page. Formatter can now recognize the multiple input page layout styles and eliminate redundant data to reduce document page counts, making forms easier to read and less expensive to deliver, whether delivery is by mail, fax, or email. In addition, the page reduction results in smaller image files for iSeries 400 customers storing the documents on-line. Pricing for Formatter starts at $1,995

Enhancements for Formtastic Fusion5 Include:

Full Conditioned Preview of Spool Data – DesignerPRO, Formtastic's GUI for designing electronic forms, now includes improved print preview functionality for previewing spool files exactly as they will appear on the printed page, including support for WYSIWYG viewing of conditions, images, and bar codes. This powerful tool allows users to preview a batch of forms on-screen before going into production and eliminates the time-intensive task of printing a spool file to see how condition statements will impact the printed output. Actual spool data can now be used to pre-test how forms will appear, saving significant time during the electronic forms creation process.

Improved Sorting - Advanced support for sorting multiple documents contained within a single spooled file for easier output handling. For example: zip code sorts helps prepare documents for bulk mailing, fax number sorts provide easy batch faxing, while sorting by dollar amount makes it easier to view documents by ascending or descending value. The improved sorting capability within Formtastic is now more powerful and easier to use than ever.

Improved Support for MICR Check Pressure Seal Devices - Formtastic Checks can now automatically print MICR checks and place the overflow detail data (taking paper from a different printer drawer) at the beginning, middle or end of the print cycle for easier handling and mailing of MICR checks. The enhanced support identifies pressure seal checks (with overflow) that need to be mailed in an envelope.

MICR Check Clustering Enhancements - Formtastic Checks now supports multiple check runs across several printers, allowing for greater flexibility and speed when printing and processing MICR checks. Large check print runs can now use multiple output queues to print checks to multiple MICR check printers, saving time and money.
Formtastic Fusion5 enhancements are integrated into the product and are offered free of charge to existing customers.

Email Module Added to Formtastic Fusion5:

New Formtastic Email Module - Formtastic can now deliver documents by email without an external processor. The new Formtastic Email Module connects the iSeries 400 and any SMTP, Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange or Novell GroupWise mail server to email Formtastic-created documents in TIF or PDF format. The Formtastic Email Module is priced at $4,995.
