Formtastic Overview

Conditioning - Who Gets What and How
Conditioning allows you to control a document's overall appearance
and automatically deliver a document to multiple destinations.
Also, you can vary the document's appearance and data depending
on the final destination.
In this example, we're adding conditioning that will automatically
print "Customer Copy" on one copy of the document. We're
also adding conditioning which dictates that this copy will be
printed automatically. |
 |
|
Conditioning - Unlimited Possibilities!
You can add as much conditioning as you need. Continuing with
the example directly above, we're also going to produce a copy
of this form with "Accounting Copy" printed on the form.
And, we've indicated that this copy should be automatically emailed
to the recipient. We could also send the document to multiple
recipients or an entire department just as easily. |
 |
|
Conditioning - Logically Control Document
Appearance
You can use conditioning to modify a documents appearance as
well as print specialized copy or set the delivery method. Conditioning
allows you to make major or minor changes to how data appears,
where it appears, or if it appears at all depending on the document's
final destination. |
 |
|
Conditioning - Automate Document Appearance
In this example, we've used conditioning to create a "For
Internal Use Only" watermark. This watermark will automatically
print on all copies, one copy, or based on the printer destination. |

|
|
Conditioning - Take Control of your Data
Formatter also lets you place relative controls on your data.
This means you can design a document to appear exactly
as you want without any constraints.
Here's an example using the 'Subtotal Area' of your form. Typically,
the subtotal is locked into appearing at the absolute bottom of
every page. It doesn't matter if the form contains five or fifty
detail items.
Using Formatter, you can allow your Subtotal data to float directly
under the final detail item. This makes your form easier to read
and more professional in appearance.
As you can see in these two images, the subtotal's location appears
relative to last detail item. |

100% WYSIWIG Print Preview
including Conditional Objects
Formtastic's desktop preview shows live data and conditional
logic exactly as it will appear on the printed page. Users see
spool file text alongside bar codes, graphics, lines, and boxes
with perfect WYSIWYG accuracy and without trial-and-error testing.
This means that forms processing functions that had to be performed
on the iSeries and then printed can now be fully previewed from
the PC desktop. |

high-maintenance printers while enhancing the efficiency, professional
appearance, and delivery of your mission-critical documents.
